VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
FINANCE OFFICER
The Presbyterian University of East Africa invites qualified and committed professionals to apply for the position of Finance Officer in the Finance Department.
Reporting To: The Vice-Chancellor
Duty Station: Presbyterian University of East Africa, Kikuyu
Key Responsibilities
- Providing strategic financial planning and implementation of the University Budget(s)
- Developing, implementing and monitoring financial, accounting and administrative policies and procedures
- Preparing statutory financial and annual reports in conformity with IFRS and regulatory bodies
- Providing liaison for internal and external auditors and safeguarding integrity of financial reporting
- Ensuring compliance with statutory returns and legislation
- Overseeing daily operations and advising management on resource optimization
- Managing revenue collection and tracking research grants and endowments
- Managing, mentoring and reviewing finance staff performance
- Providing administrative support and enforcing financial policies
- Preparing timely management reports
- Any other duties assigned by management
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Management, or related field
- CPA(K), ACCA finalist or equivalent professional qualification
- Member of relevant professional body in good standing
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in finance or accounting
- Knowledge of financial management regulations and accounting standards
- Experience in ERP systems and AI tools
- Strong analytical, reporting and planning skills

Remuneration
The successful candidate(s) shall be paid commensurately with their qualifications.
